WORK IN PROGRESS January 2008
Hello everyone,
I would like to start by thanking everyone for the support and positive feedback we have received since release. your support means a lot to us.... thank you.
We have been busy working on the 1.1 update and although initially we were going to make the first patch code fixes only, we decided to expand it to include some new toys for everyone to play with.

Yakovlev Yak-38
The Yakovlev Yak-38 (NATO reporting name: Forger) was Soviet Naval Aviation's first and only operational VTOL multi-role combat aircraft. This was the only VTOL aircraft other than the Harrier to be put into active service, but suffered from poor range and payload, and bad reliability due to the use of three engines compared to the Harrier's one. Although the real life version of this plane had its faults, the AIX version will more than allow MEC pilots to give the Harriers a run for their money. |

Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut
The Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut (Russian: Су-47 Беркут - Golden Eagle), also designated S-32 and S-37 during initial development, is an experimental thrust-vectoring supersonic jet fighter developed by Sukhoi Aviation Corporation. A distinguishing feature of the aircraft is its forward-swept wing, similar to that of the Grumman X-29. This is a truly unique looking aircraft that is awesome to see flying around the battlefield. The Berkut in AIX is used by the Chinese PLAAF. Why? Because we wanted a Berkut in AIX, and someone had to get it... |

Beriev Be-12 Chayka
The Beriev Be-12 Chayka (NATO reporting name: "Mail") is a Soviet twin-turboprop-powered anti-submarine and maritime patrol bomber/rescue aircraft. It is slow and cumbersome compared to the jets but generally still arrives at its destination earlier than a transport helicopter making the same trip. It carries six including the pilot and co-pilot. Its four small bombs are its only form of armament, but on the plus side - heatseekers won't be able to lock onto it. For reasons of production speed, game performance, and practicality, our Be-12 is a pure seaplane - the wheels are cosmetic only, though if necessary a careful pilot can land on terrain without too much damage.

The SG 552 is an assault rifle manufactured by Swiss Arms AG. This variation of the rifle has a silencer and open (iron) sights. |

Magpul Masada
The Masada Adaptive Combat Weapon System is a self-loading rifle platform designed by Magpul Industries of Erie, Colorado.
The Masada represents an amalgamation of several recent rifle designs, incorporating what is considered by its designers to be the best features of each in a single, lightweight, modular rifle platform. |

Trident - (map - DasRoach, custom statics - Kysterama)
A mid morning raid on a remote Chinese radar facility by UN forces is the setting for a new map with a central focal point on a fortified beach and the struggle to capture its defensive positions. The map features alot of field cannons, so the UN forces will have to make effective use of their GR.7 harrier to keep the Chinese defenders from getting the upper hand.
It is another 1024x2 sized map, so although its focus is on the main central push, the map has 2 alternate longer routes that allow an attacking team to encircle around to the Chinese airfield and township. |

Saab 37 Viggen
The Saab 37 Viggen (Thunderbolt) is a Swedish single-seat, single-engine, short-medium range fighter aircraft and attack aircraft that the UN forces will use to good effect against enemy forces. It is the successor to the Draken, and unlike the AIX Draken, our Viggen carries laser-guided missiles in addition to its AAMs and cannon. |
